Just to reply to a question over the weekend, yep, that’s doable.

Your only obligations are to dispose of the body by burial, cremation or donation and let the authorities know the plan.

Direct cremation is perfect for the least fuss. Your friends and family (or a funeral director if you want some help) arrange with the crematorium to have your body cremated – no ceremony. The crematorium can safely dispose of the ashes or they can hand them back to your nearest and dearest to scatter, with or without ceremony.
