We’ve been friends since school. I’d trust her with my life.
Next to signing up for a Final Fling account, the most important thing you can do today is appoint your Final Fling Keyholder.
Your Final Fling Keyholder is the person – or persons – who can access all your wishes and instructions and your essential next of kin paperwork on Final Fling ‘in the event’.
You can set up your Keyholder when you set up your account profile or at any stage once you have an account.
Who can be my Final Fling Keyholder?
For many their Final Fling Keyholder will be a partner. For one in three in the UK live who on their own (as lots of people elect to these days) their Final Fling Keyholder will be a ‘significant other’ – best friend, flatmate, sibling, family, neighbour, workmate, professional.
Read Ewan’s experience if you need encouraging. Then please, appoint your Keyholder today.
3 step process to appoint your Final Fling Keyholder
Appointing a Keyholder isn’t a fully automated process because we think it’s something you should discuss with the person first so they understand and agree to help enact your wishes.
- JOIN: Prompt your Keyholder to sign up for a Final Fling account so they’re part of the community.
- FOLLOW: Once they’ve signed up for a free account, they should post something so you can FOLLOW them. You’ll see their post in your stream. Click on their name to follow. Get them to follow you too to connect to each other.
- APPOINT: Once you’re connected, click on their name in their post and you’ll see ‘Appoint a Keyholder’ on the left.
You can share ideas for your Bucket List, Funeral Wishes or Last Wishes, share treasures in your Memory Box and they’ll be able to access key documents in your Safe Deposit Box – your Will, birth certificate, life insurance documents, bank account details, other account names and passwords to access and close them down.
You can appoint as many Keyholders as you like.
I would like to appoint two keyholders, one friend locally and a daughter who lives a long way away – is this possible?
Hi Freya,
Yes, you can appoint as many Keyholders as you like. For example I have my partner and two kids.
