On 9 November 2017, Final Fling hosted an Absent Friends Supper at Kinning Park Complex.
To Absent Friends is an annual Scotland-wide festival promoted by our friends at Good Life Good Death Good Grief.

Final Fling and Kinning Park Complex are teaming up on this event – Glasgow’s contribution to this year’s music-themed Absent Friends festival. Our music will be provided by local musicians, Blackletter – a bit of lament, reflection and high-kicking… classic fare for a wake.
“We’ll have conversation starter menus on tables just to help kickstart the chat,” said Barbara. “I expect this to be just like Death Cafes – the minute you create a safe space to talk about death and loss, people are well able to open up and share. We’re looking forward to a noisy night of conversation as well as some quieter, thoughtful moments. KPC’s artist in residence is creating an Absent Friends Wall for us too so that folks can write a note, memory or tribute to pin to the board.”
Community suppers are regular events at Kinning Park and it’s a friendly crowd. You’ll be welcomed just the same whether you’re coming on your own for the first time or you’re a fan of the community complex.

Free to attend, donations to support KPC’s great work always welcomed.
