In the Mirror of Death
January 21 - February 25| £90 - £135
An Introduction to the Tibetan Buddhist Understanding of Death and Dying
Inspired by The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, by Sogyal Rinpoche.
This 3-day course – led by Margaret Tatham and Vicky Palethorpe – guides participants through the essential teachings on dying and death from the Buddhist tradition of Tibet.
It offers a glimpse of this practical wisdom and sacred inspiration, which is so beneficial for today’s world. The universal message of these teachings speaks to people from all walks of life and is relevant for those of any spiritual tradition or none. They show us
how we can face uncertainty and change, transform difficulty and fear, prepare for death and support others to die with dignity.
The course also gives essential guidance on meditation and the practice of Essential Phowa, a practice for healing and for the moment of death. It addresses how we can prepare ourselves and how to accompany someone nearing death, so that they can die with peace of mind and even with confidence. The universality of these teachings can bring benefit to anyone who wants to explore this topic.
The course is open to everyone.
Margaret and Vicky are experienced educators who provide specialised training through the Spiritual Care Programme (an organisation providing non-denominational education and care for living and dying – www.spcare.org). They are also long term students of Sogyal Rinpoche and have presented on Rigpa UK courses for over 20 years.
